			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Words are the tools-in-trade for a copywriter like me, so when I heard a comment about the power of words recently, I pricked up my ears.</p>
<p>The speaker &#8211; none other than motivational guru Brian Tracy on a fleeting visit to the UK &#8211; was talking about the power of the human mind to &#8216;think&#8217;, and how that extraordinary ability separated us from all the other creatures on the planet. That power to think and rationalise is what helps us maintain our position as the No.1 being, so it&#8217;s kind of an important faculty!  </p>
<p>What Brian said next, though, really got my attention&#8230; He said that our ability to think about anything is always driven by a single word.</p>
<p>It wasn&#8217;t a concept I&#8217;d heard before, but it certainly struck a chord with me &#8211; and got me thinking (You see, it works!)</p>
<p>Yep, a single word is the springboard for every thought, ,  - and thoughts create action. Ergo, words make thoughts, and thoughts drive the world. Yes, it&#8217;s THAT powerful!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a quick exercise for you, so you can see just how powerful this concept is:</p>
<p>Think of any noun, real or abstract &#8211; and focus on that single word for a few moments &#8211; and see where it takes you.</p>
<p>Imagine how many books have been written with a single word title, fiction or non-fiction. Let&#8217;s take the word &#8216;Japan&#8217; as a title. OK, it may have a subtitle to help pinpoint more precisely what the book is about, but the common theme, the thought thread, is that single word &#8216;Japan&#8217;. There may be 200 pages with approximately 300 words on each page &#8211; that&#8217;s 60,000 words which have all been written as a result of thinking about the single, simple word &#8216;Japan&#8217;.</p>
<p>So the next time you feel you are not creative enough to write  or don&#8217;t have the skills required to start your own business, just put your brain into gear with a single word &#8211; and see where it takes you!</p>

<p>Whether we call it cash, money or wealth, it’s the oil that lubricates our lives. It’s what we need to eat and to live. So it’s no real surprise that most of us spend the majority of our waking hours in pursuit of it. Whether that’s through using our talents, like Berry Gordy, or simply exchanging our time for a salary, we all want more and recognise that improving our talent or our abilities will help us achieve a pay rise or a better job. In essence, we need to learn more so we can charge more for our time.</p>
